Romania – Strategic Presence in Asia: Top Romanian Companies to Participate in INRO BUSINESS SUMMIT 2025, with the Support of the Romanian Embassy in India

Between 3–4 June 2025, India’s economic capital becomes the host of an event of international scale: the INRO BUSINESS SUMMIT, organised by the Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce Romania–India (UBCCR), with the official support of the Romanian Embassy in New Delhi, through the direct involvement of Ambassador Sena Latif.
The summit marks a turning point in Romanian–Indian economic relations, providing a practical framework for bilateral collaboration, investment, and expansion into Asian markets. Romania is attending this event with a portfolio of representative companies from key sectors such as agriculture, food industry, tourism, construction and design, health, and technology.

Interview with Mrs. Shiva Munjal – President of UBCCR
What was the motivation behind organising such a large-scale bilateral economic summit?
Shiva Munjal: The need to transform the Romania–India relationship from a protocol exchange into a functional economic network. For too long we have spoken about potential, but without concrete tools. The INRO BUSINESS SUMMIT comes exactly as this tool – a space where entrepreneurs can close contracts, launch products, and establish real partnerships.
How were the participating Romanian companies selected?
Shiva Munjal: We analysed companies with export capacity, reputation, stability, and a clear internationalisation strategy. We didn’t look at the size of the company, but at the seriousness with which they treat the idea of expanding into India. Participating are brands capable of supplying consistently, delivering quality, and respecting long-term partnerships.
What can Romania concretely offer the Indian market?
Shiva Munjal: Romania offers what India is looking for: clean food products, processed agriculture, European industrial technologies, authentic tourist services. In return, India offers market, capital, and volume. We are not in competition, but in complementarity. Whoever understands this will benefit immensely.
What is your message to Romanian entrepreneurs who are still hesitant to approach the Asian market?
Shiva Munjal: I tell them honestly: if you don’t take this step now, others will take it in your place. India is expanding rapidly. It has millions of consumers looking for quality alternatives. But the market does not open from a distance – it is built here, through presence, partnerships, and perseverance.
What follows after the summit? Is it just a one-off event?
Shiva Munjal: No. The summit is only the beginning. UBCCR will continue to offer support for contract implementation, negotiations, franchises, legal and logistical support. We have dedicated teams both in Romania and in India. Our aim is not to organise conferences, but to generate real business.
How important was the support of the Romanian Embassy in New Delhi?
Shiva Munjal: Fundamental. Without the support of Ambassador Sena Latif, we would not have managed to raise the summit to this level. We have a strong institutional partnership, based on professionalism and a shared vision: transforming Romanian–Indian economic relations into a functional model of regional cooperation.
